I'm needing some help with a couple of things working on my 77 Excalibur I have the transom and stringers torn out, my port side strake and floor is cracked.
1. The company that I buy my glass supplys from here local doesn't carry Bi Ax, anyone know of a place that I can get it online with reasonable shipping also thinking about getting vinalester online also, any help would be great.
2.I know that I need to space my stringers 1/4-1/2" off the bottom of the hull, my question is the factory ones were 2X6 laid in with a void on the bottom side, should I bevel my new ones to follow the form of the hull (24%)?
3.I've read that you can over clamp the transom board, I was going to fit it in my first piece of wood drill my holes for my tabs and drive and lifting eyes put some 38 bolts and nuts and tighten, can they be tightened to much? then on my second board do my mat and sheet rock screw it to the first board, let it set up and take the screws out and fill the holes put my Bi Ax on top am I on the right track?
