The new TV ad for the Miami Boat Show this year, starts off with two 36 foot Apaches running together across the water.
If you can stop the tape long enough, you will notice that both boats are colored gray. These were the boats used in the movie Miami Vice and they were color blocked by the computer, so the graphics that the producers wanted on them could be shown.
One of the drivers was Johnny Tomlinson.
One of the 36's was a short staggered and the other was side by side engines.
If anyone can lift the link from Youtube and get it on here, you can see it.

One day after they finished filming, they needed the boats to go back to TNT, where they were stored between filming. So Bobby Saccenti driving one of the boats and Johnny Tomlinson driving the other start heading back up north on the open ocean.
Out of nowhere the sky turned black and the wind started whipping up and coming from many different directions as they headed north in the ocean. The waves kept building and building and soon they were under a terrible downpour of rain. The boats were being pushed all over the place as the crews were getting hammered with both wind and rain. Bobby said the rain was so hard at one point he was wondering if the bilge pumps could keep up to keep them afloat.
But living up to their name, both Apaches managed to fight up the coast and they were able to find an inlet and get back to calmer water. The rain continued, but at least they were no longer fighting big ocean waves.

The boats used in the movie were Donzi's. Where were the Apaches used?
