Default Offshore Racing Services To Purchase Qatar Team Assets

An intriguing development in the pre-season offshore racing world, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...ar-team-assets

Nice deal that adds some boats to the race show and keeps the high speed runs going as well.

Look forward to see how it shapes up.

I'd love to see them make the trip back to LOTO. 245mph next to an American flag would be pretty cool.

Matt, after doing some digging it seems that Offshore Racing Services is located at 453 Thorpe Rd Orlando, FL. Well, also at that address is Reliable Carriers. We all know that Qatar bought the old Reliable Carriers MTI a couple years back, and that Steve Curtis worked for Tom Abrams (owner of Reliable Carriers) a few years back. Putting two and two together would lead me to believe that Tom Abrams is the money man behind this whole deal. Is there any truth to that?????

The short answer is ... not that I'm aware of. Mr. Curtis said he has a Norwegian partner in Offshore Racing Services, but that's it. And yes, they use a portion of the Reliable Carriers facility as their shop. Whether they pay rent or Mr. Abrams simply makes it available to them, I don't know.

Mr. Curtis told me he used personal funds and took out a loan for the acquisition.

Oh ok, just looking from the outside it made sense and seemed like a logical way for Reliable to get back into racing. Thanks for the quick answer.
