Some parts of the Harmon Creek area where a lot of boats anchor are 90 ft deep. I found the bottom there to be soft clay so my anchor just stuck to it. Anything with weight will work since you don't really need to compete with a current or high winds, you just need a lot of rode like mentioned above. I have a 28lb, navy style and I have seen the plow style like like on a cruiser windlass work well also.

Friend has one of those Box Anchors and 100' of line last time we were there, was in about 80' of water and held 6 boats rafted together as a thunderstorm swept overhead quickly while in Guffey Creek.. I was impressed. I will be buying one.

I don't know the waters there but I've yet to find a place where the Box Anchor doesn't hold and I've used it on rocky bottoms before. I've had mine for close to 15 years and would never go back to another style. It also folds flat and has it's own heavy duty storage bag..
