Important addition to story that I had to fact-check (I couldn't reach anyone late Friday afternoon when the release came out) before I could include it:
"While the app will be a free download, owners of SmartCraft-equipped engines will need to purchase the VesselView Mobile Module to use it. The module will be available in May through Mercury Marine dealers. Cost is $275."
It's now in the text, but I also thought I'd just post it here for those who don't want to reread the news piece.

Any updates on this? Also... if you have twins does it support both engines? Would I need 2 modules or just 1? I can't find this to purchase anywhere even though it says it was supposed to come out a couple months back. I also can't find the app in either the apple app store or the google play store.

Do you need a NMEA gateway to make that work? My next project is going to have Smartcraft gauges, and a Garmin 741. I was wondering what the best way to tie the Garmin in with Smartcraft?
