Made a call yesterday and located a piece of hollow structural steel, plus assorted new cut off scraps to fabricate mounting plates. Going for coffee, while the sun is rising along with the outside temperature. Then let the games begin.

Mostly 350 to 500 lbs, occasionally more. This unit is overkill for those weights. I want to attach a 1/2 ton CM Cyclone chain hoist, but I just checked my stock and see a NIB 1/4 ton Cyclone and a NIB 1 ton Cyclone and a NIB 1 ton CM Lodestar. It's like my lottery numbers, close, but not the right ones.
To answer your question a little more in depth, this length HSS has a deflection of .358" @ 1000 lbs. I could have gotten 3 x 4 .250 wall for the same price $0. It has a deflection of .185" @ 1000 lbs but that's like shooting a rabbit with a 416 Rigby, only the ears are left.
