what is everyone using I have 588s and they need to be +.300 morel, comp, crane etc??

I am using Johnson, I also have the axle oiling ones for extra oil to rollers.

My recommendation would be a morel lifter with the .750 wheel if using a standard .842 lifters. You can get them thru Lunati, Howards, Erson, and a few other places.

The Johnsons are supposed to be a good lifter too. Never used them though. They have a .700 wheel.

Make sure lifter to lifter bore clearance is checked/adjusted. I believe it is Dart blocks that have shown some lifter to bore seizures. But this should be done on any block nowadays, especially aftermarket.

yes, and make sure the clearance is verified with someone who knows the conditions you run the boat in!! I learned that.... fixed now!!

mine are .0020 now no issues..

Just an FYI regarding your question I did not have good luck with crower hyd roller lifters however they were used in conjunction with an aggressive cam lobe. Regardless they should not have failed. Ended up going with isky red zones. Only other ones I'd use personally are morels. Some still swear by cranes. I think it's hit and miss from time to time with just about any of them. It's all about quality control. I know of individuals that have had excellent luck with howards even.

Dart blocks tend to run a little tight for a "true" .842 lifter. Most after market lifters come ~.841-.8415 but can vary as much as .001"+ in a set. This is why I prefer Morel. Their lifters are a true .842 and I've never seen an entire set vary more than .0005". Their manufacturing is the best in the business and they do everything in house including heat treat. Anyone here in manufacturing can tell you that heat treat can make or break your product.
Lifter to bore clearance is critical and should be given the same priority as bearing clearances.

Mic your bores and go from there. Morels from my experience tend to be near the top with consistency however with that said if you have after market blocks with slightly smaller bores that can lead to issues also. Back when I was really anal with my builds I would sometimes go through two sets of lifters for one build. With marine engines I like plenty of clearance everywhere.

when you buy a dart big m block if you read the paperwork that is included with every one they sell it sais the lifter bores need to be final sized by the end user/builder.if you don,t check the lifter to bore size you can plan on a failure.
