Default 92 TG for sale $35K. What the heck is a "Hoss" package? Scam...

Sent a question off to a Craigslist add and got this response:

"Not sure what's going on with the attachments because I clearly remember attaching them last time. So I think it would be easier to send you the inventory link from the ASC website:
https://www.autostartak.com/Inventory_3/KPT44S178/
Sorry for using acronyms, I should have mentioned it from the beginning and spare some conversation time. I called ASC - short from AutoStartak Consignment & Sales.
They are a consignment service for vehicles and large items mostly. Take a quick look at their website. It should give you and idea how they work and how they handle these sales.
The reason for selling is we got a great deal on a different one and keeping them both is not an option. I have signed a consignment agreement with them and left it on their lot because we don't have any more space left.
If you want to purchase the boat and pick it up yourself, you must contact the company and setup an appointment. In case you are too far away and want it shipped, I already have 1000 miles covered, based on their policy, shipping within 1000 miles is the seller's responsibility.
If you are more than 1000 miles away from the ASC warehouse, there will be an extra charge of $1.15 for each additional mile.
Now, if you opt for shipping, simply go to their website and "Register"
for a new transaction.
Once you registered, an invoice regarding this purchase will be issued to you. The invoice should contain detailed information about this transaction, like insurance, bill of sale, payment info, etc...basically, all you need to know about your purchase.
So that's the essentially buying process, but I should also mention their Pre Delivery Inspection you get at delivery and their 7-day money back guarantee that follows, which costs nothing and should give you a chance and time to decide on the boat. The pre-delivery inspection will have an ASC representative on site who should answer your questions, show that everything works and sign the necessary delivery papers. The boat was pre-inspected before being listed for sale and passed their inspection flawlessly.
More information can be found on theirs HOW IT WORKS page. I am sure they to a better job explaining things than I do.
If you have any other questions, please let me know, I will be more than happy to help.

P.S. Sorry for such long email, I was trying to make it shorter but wanted to tell you all I know.
Janice"

The link below goes to a website that does have a TG listed. I tried to contact the site, but have not received a response from them.

I don't think that's a scam but don't know what a "hoss" package is.

Oh its a SCAM alright!! I inquired about a 29' Scarab a while back that was listed on craigslist down in TX....got almost the same response word for word from the "owner" of the boat that also bought a bigger boat and doesn't have the room for this one.....different company name but they used the SAME picture of the warehouse interior!!! The scam is they want you to wire transfer the money in to an account that OUT OF THE COUNTRY! therefor you have no recourse if you don't get anything out ion the deal! Run...RUN FAR AWAY!!!

Why doesn't he want advertisement?? Lol.

The original ad looks legit.

"1992 Cigarette 38 Top Gun with Hoss package.Comes equipped with twin 425 h.p mercs with TRS drives 4 Blade props. Its not the fastest offshore at 64 or 65 mph in fresh water but it always gets there. The boat has been rack stored all of its life until my purchase of it. Has only 326 hours since new. The boat had a complete mechanical over haul in last 20 hours engines. Runs perfect. Interior is all original as are the gauges, paint, gel coat. and it shines like it came out of the factory yesterday as it has always been undercover since new. The trailer was purchased in Fla. brand new from All American in 2011 and only has around 3000 miles or less since new and shows."

Obviously written by a true boater.
Scammer stole the real ad I'm guessing.

One of the pics says sold on it! Lmao.

I have several listings on CL for office furniture. I get texts all the time telling me they are out of town and other BS wanting my PayPal so they can Overpay for my trouble and then the will send shipper. Not sure how they can scam me, but I just answer Cash and Carry- never hear from most again. A few have even had the balls to say they are Deployed FuKrs.

Ive had all sorts of crafty beavers trying to scam an item am selling on the net.....Like Quinlan said i too had a guy that was claiming to be deployed....said he wanted to purchase my truck for his daughter as a surprise.....again he said he would pay me more to cover shipping and his shipper would come and get the truck. When i get things like that i make it very difficult but still doable just in case it is a real deal. In that one i told him he can pay me exactly what i want for the truck no more.....i will wait 30 days for funds to clear before i will release the truck to ANY shipper...and the shipping fee's HE has to pre-pay for....not me..........never hear from them again
