I have seen a few motors guys are running the 6 offroad boxes and rev control any pros and cons?

If you do, have a spare for a backup... They have a reputation of failing at random times.

I went through 4-5 on my rockcrawler!!! had to keep 2 at all times. When the last 2 both finally gave it up, I gave up on MSD.

6 box is not reliable. Might want to look at the 7al2 pretty good box. Or Daytona sensors cdi box.

After losing two boxes, no one I know has had a problem since using the cap msd tech suggested (10 years or so)

It really should be designed into the unit.

Ya know....now that you mentioned that it just sparked a memory in my head! Back in the early 90's i had a K5 Blazer with a built 383 motor in it and ran an MSD system on that rig.....had an awe full whine that come through the speaker system from the ign system......i know it was not the Alt cause i ran the motor with the alt disconnected and still had the noise.....anyway after talking with MSD about it they told me to install a cap in feed lines going to the box....cured the issue and i had that truck for almost 7yrs and the box never broke down on me!!!.......years later i had a 30' scarab with the MSD marine box's on them and each one crapped out inside of 3yrs!......along with the rusty internals of the distributors but that's another issue!
