Hey everyone,
Long time reader/lurker. First time posting here. I'm rebuilding my gen VI 502 and need to replace the head bolts (Had to grind off a rusted bolt to get a head off). Stock iron heads. There doesn't seem to be much info about which ARP kit is recommended for this motor. I called ARP and the tech couldn't even point me to the correct kit. Told me to "measure the stock bolts and call back". I know guys are using a specific kit that works with the 502.
I've found that the ARP 135-3601 seems to be the most common kit guys are recommending. However, apparently there are four "medium length" bolts in the ARP kit while there are only two lengths to the stock merc bolts. So...
1) Is 135-3601 the correct kit?
2) Specifically, where do the "medium length" bolts from the ARP kit go?
Thanks guys! Appreciate all the information I've found on here over the years!

Summit, Jegs and ARP all seemed clueless - led to a wasted weekend for me.

the head you use determines the bolts, can't believe they did know the # for std GM iron heads...but the 3601 appears to be the one for stock iron heads per summit
