Default You know you've got a keeper when..............

you take her to our boat on Lake Erie for the first weekend of the season, you forget to tell her there's no water on/to the boat (meaning no flushing toilet etc), the marina bathrooms are open but w/no heat, the weather turns to crap, snows 6" and drops to 24* over night and she still loves it!

We just moved back to Ohio 1 1/2 yrs ago after spending 9 yrs in Fla and most of it boating in the Keys and the Intracoastal.
On the way to breakfast (w/heat) one morning she actually looks at me and says, "this is way better than boating in the Keys"
Swear to God.

Oh yeah, and our 2 yr old choc lab fell in the water, then was traumatized by the snow covered docks! I spent the rest of the weekend carrying the 90 lb jug head down the docks until throwing my back out.

The marina manager even told me she was a keeper. Course he screwed up and told me that in front of her!

We don't even tell people that anymore cuz they always laugh and then ask the same question

The wifes employer closed their Fla office and gave her choice of severance/staying and adapting to **** Fla economy or transfer/raise/promotion/buy our house/move us etc.
Plus at that time we had twin 1 yr old grand sons in Columbus and I had parents in Cols in their mid '90's. Lost my my mom 3 months ago and pop is struggling.
Was an easy call plus did excellent w/difference in property value of Fla and sticks/Ohio!.

Plus as we also tell people all the time, living down there is way different than visiting.

That's not funny!

Love your area. Owned a house in the Cape during Hurricane Charlie and had a 24' Sonic and 17' Hydrostream in the back yard.
Launched from Pine Island and hit all the islands from there.

This was off CayoCosta.

Hilarious!

Funny thing is, I bought my first 24' a Sonic while I had my first 32' Marinette

We have enough property that I may shop for a fixer upper classic this fall.
And not tell the Mrs.

My 94 yr old dad (50 yrs boating) told me how lucky I am that she likes boating that much, in front of her.
I asked my dad if thought there'd have been a second date if she didn't?

Her first boating trip was my first Sonic, on Erie, to Pelee w/my chocolate lab.
I always tell her that was a test

Helps a ton if u get that out of the way at the start.

Nice old hydrostream! I love those boats and still think that is where reggie got the idea from.
