I have one. I bought it used from OldSchoolII, here on OSO. (AKA Craig.)

But I haven't installed it yet. I tried, but...

...I have shltty valve stems, and i haven't addressed that issue yet. They have been installed for years, and I've only had one problem with one where it broke. But if you put any pressure on them, they start leaking around the base of the hole in the wheel. This is NOT typical, and the only reason I haven't installed it yet. My concern is that with the extra weight of the head/sending unit, it would cause my valve stems to rock a bit, and bleed off air pressure. Dumb issue I know, but it's a 6x PITA to replace them.

The system I have is the Talon by HawksHead Craig said it worked great for him, which is why I bought it. I'll put it on eventually.

Thanks

They don't say anything on their site about boats so Dumb Question #1

They're submersible ?

I know rain, car wash, etc etc is going to get them wet but I'd think that's different than completely submerging them while you launch and retrieve the boat.

Do you have to remove them before you back the trailer in the water?

Craig never did, in salt or fresh, and he said they worked fine.

HOWEVER, he did let them freeze when wet, and that did the sensors in. As such, when I bought the new unit, it came with 6 new sensors.

Accordingly, I'll be drying them out come winter.

Funny this should come up I'm putting new tires on my trailer probably next week and was looking at that as well. I'd looked at the valve stem cap style but was concerned about submerging them or people taking the caps... I was also curious if the sensors would pick up from the trailer to the cab of the truck, glad to hear they will.

Thanks

Doran makes a very to use system that, I think will accommodate up to 16 sensors. They simply screw onto the valve stem (steel stem recommended) and you program each sensor to a location on the unit. It is wireless of course and also reads temperature! Wheel bearing failure warning! You can set pressure and temp warnings. I have them on my F250 always and on my trailer. Works great.
