Default Wellcraft Excalibur Cat or Chris Craft Cat

Getting the itch for an old hot rod boat. I like it differenct and rare. Seems like the Excalibur Cat and Chris Cat fit that bill(always loved them as a kid). I have seen them with Merc drives and the occasional Excalibur with the Kaama drives. Looking for some feedback on handling and performance with higher hp, I have access to twin 600hp power. I know there will be opinions, but I don't want a v bottom on this venture. Time for a Cat and need to handle medium water conditions.

I have found a few in the $20-$30k mark, turn key and ready. Hard to read the market as well.

Any feedback, experience, advice would be appreciated.

Easy to find, but no one wants to pony up the $$$ for a good one, and the ragged ones are priced hansomly

If restoring one, you know you ll be upside down when selling, so of course no one wants to pay top dollars for a full project. In that way, most selling total project ask too much...

They are not easy to find, but I have found a few. I think a turn key boat brings $20-25. Not looking to restore. Some guys are asking stupid money. I will keep searching.
