Default Boat Sale

Why are there so many boats sold w/o engine and drive? is it because the cost of replacing them makes leaving them in the boat force the cost of the boat to be so high nobody will buy it? Is it because the engines/drives become practically irreplaceable after time spent dialing them in to they are taken by folks to their next boat? Is it because it is easier to sell engines and drives without the boat?

Just curious.

Thanks!

Because the high dollar engines and drives are worth more to the person who had them built than any potential buyer.

Example--you build a pair of engines for 30k and your drives were 20k.
The boat complete with them is worth 70k. The boat less power and drives is worth 40k.
