1999 25 Outlaw fuel leak
#1
My brother went to dewinterize his 1999 25 Outlaw and the boat had a strong odor of gas. He dipped a rag into the fluid in the bottom of the bilge and it was gasoline. There is not a bunch of gas, but a little bit is too much. Any ideas as to where the gas is leaking? The boat has been winterized since October. It's at the marina now so they can look into it, but was just curious if anyone else had this issue. Also, do the 25 Outlaws have aluminum gas tanks?

yes, they have alum tanks. He can get to it by removing the access panel under the bench seat. I would smell in there to see if it smells of fuel. Your 36 shoudl have the same thing. Only difference, is it should only have 1 bung. My 25ol had 1, my 33 has 3 bungs. Hopefully it was just some gas out of the filter or something.
I would clean it out with dawn real well and see if you can get rid of it. Would also prime the key and start with someone in bilge to see if it's leaking from a fitting at filter head. Fitting at cool fuel will be hard to get too, but you can probably run your hand underneath it. If it's leaking there, there should be gas on it.
