CK Motorsports owner Keith Holmes was in Washington D.C. last week praising the benefits of ethanol from his experience in the Cat Can Do raceboat and many other boats.

Um, yeah, that is all fine and dandy for motors that are built for it. What about ramming E10 and E15 down our throats? I think he should pass that along.

Apparently Keith doesn't work at a marina where 1) None of the boats are race boats, 2) Almost every boat is older than the boat owner's car sitting in the marina parking lot, 3) None of the older boats from #2 are designed for any level of Ethanol and 4) All of those older boats are having numerous (and expensive) issues related to them not being designed for any amount of Ethanol. I do work at such a marina, but nobody in Washington wants to hear from me. Hmmm. Oh, and maybe that's why the only gasoline we sell is Ethanol free.

Of course I'm sure that the Obama administration - who hates any kind of racing - will take this statistically insignificant thumbs up for their proposal to mean all boat owners love Ethanol. Words fail me.

Baloney...he must own corn stock. If he wants to talk renewable then talk solar or whatever, renewable and fuel are mutually exclusive.

There's something inherently wrong with ethanol fuel when it's garbage after 90 days. Junk.

Point of clarification: Jason Johnson, my co-editor/publisher, wrote this one.

And while we know this is a hot topic (to put it mildly) try (not you, SB) to shoot the messenger.

Apparently he has never had to replace or repair damaged fiberglass fuel tanks due to the corn crap...
