What do you want to see out of Velocity?

With Velocity being for sale, this may be an opportunity for a new owner to grow the brand. What do you want to see out of them? Recently they focused on small fishing boats. What about a large CC - cruiser of fishing? ultra-high-performance (cat killer?), or a catamaran?

Enough with the fecking fishing boats. The 290 is a great boat, update it and bring it at a good entry level price. Next the 322, again update the paint and interior, the new one has the same good handling as the old 30 so no bottom changes are needed. Make the 39 a balls to the wall full custom whatever the customeright wants. The 290 and 32 could also be offered with out boards.

I would agree with the above also.
However, I think you could make a run at the CC market but done correctly. They are too popular here in Florida to completely ignore. On the current models though, I feel like they went a little too much "fish boat" and not enough performance boat in the few CC they did.
I think you limit the offerings until you could make enough of a comeback to expand.
322 OB and I/O
And both a closed now and CC version
390
Maybe a 35-36 cut down 390 as a CC
290 single or even twin OB
260 bay boat
I agree there needs to be some updating also. Dash, interior design (seats, bolsters), etc
Would love to see a 29'-30' SVL boat to help bring excitement back to the brand too.

I love OB sport boats as well, and had one before the Nor-Tech. Is there that much of a market for them though? I'd also love to see a 41 or new larger model with big power.
Padraig, what needs updating on the 29? What would you change?

How about a 29 open bow mid cabin but with a hard top for the open bow that is motorized. The hard top would go under the roof of the mid cabin then motorize out over the open bow to close it up. I think that would be hot!

I talked to the previous owners about developing the 290 into a SVL race boat! They were interested, but had no money to do anything to develop it. I was told If I funded it they would be happy to build it and then offer it as a model. Sad to see what's happened to the brand. Needs updating to the bottom to even have a chance of surviving if reopened! I'm speaking from experience, spent many years dialing in, racing and winning in Velocities!
