c-72 trans

hello
on a c-72 trans , there is a electric plug or sensor on TOP side of trans, what is this for???
do i need it, as it HAD 2 metal tabs for connectors, one connector is a ground, other connector not sure , but one broke off.
do i need this sensor or plug???

hello,,
to answer my question.....
i guess it is part of the alarm system for engine and trans.
it is linked to oil pressure sender also, but interesting thing is ....if it alarms,,it could be hi trans temp or low oil pressure or hi water temp.
interesting,,,and peice cost about 70 bucks...

By the time it gets hot enough to trip the temp switch the trans is usually done.
