Default CMI headers and silent choice

Is there a special header for that or just an attachment to that clamp style flange? Do you think 236 244 degree cam on a 114 center is a problem with silent choice? Wheres the best buy on Cmi's. New, used. What about Lighting . Greg

Greg,
Not sure of your cam choice and/or reversion problems/silent choice. Jones Marine was just advertising here on OSO....CMI E-Tops $2225 satin, $2375 polished

To my knowledge, there is no adapter for CMI's to silent choice. You have to buy CMI's version of the diverters, which is expensive. Otherwise, I would have put CMI's on my motor instead of Gil's.

I have a brand new set of polished CMI elbow tops, and the sound choice tail pipes to go with, $2900 for the whole set up.

Mbam,

Are the "sound choice" tail pipes you're referring two just a switchable muffler, or does it actually divert exhaust down through the propeller hub?

If it is the latter, I would like to know where you purchased this setup.

Ric, it puts it down through the prop. It is CMI's version of the Merc Silent Choice. Got them right from CMI.

I looked at that, but I currently have Corsa Capt Call (electric) so I would have had to installd CMI's compressor to convert to an air-actuated system if I am not mistaken.

I went to the CMI site and I come up with a cost around $4500 for the whole thing.

Yes, that is why the set I am selling is such a good deal. The only thing missing is the air compressor, about $450

Lightning now makes a set of headers that come with water-jacketed diverters.
