88K w/8.2 HO so that 540 boat had to be 110-120K
Read somewhere Donzi thought the 496 HO was all the power that hull could take. I know 3rd Childhood has a 525 and there is an Ilmor boat out there but a 540 sounds like a great idea!

I think it's great Baja is building entry level stuff, but I think they need to ditch the Verado for a 300xs on the next speculation build. It's gone from a tested 49 with a Suzuki to a claimed 54 with Merc power.... I'm betting with a 300xs and a little setup, 60mph is possible. And 60 is way more better than 54.

Thanks for the pictures, and the price tag info. I,m not surprised at that listed price.
I saw a price of 72 K listed by Donzi in 2012, for a big block Donzi Sweet 16 if anyone wanted to special order one.

Me too., but I did put it on my list just in case I win the lottery.
Is the quality that much better than other similar style boats, or is it the name and history that drives the price up so high ?

remember a new Mercury 540, transom assembly and an XR will run you almost 45K right off the bat. So even if invoice on that boat is under 90K it still represents 50% of the cost of the boat!
