Curious how the 30 Spectre stacks up against the 28 and 30 skater , always liked the 30 OB

They ran well but the Mobil One 28 Skater out ran many of them. I do not think they are as fast as a Skater but the 30' vs a 28' the extra 2' is a benefit. Could be a good value for the money.
But with your boat almost done Larry you should finish that thing!!!!!!
Skate as some motors/steering for sale. Go boating and do not worry about the last few MPH's.... It is over rated. Us old guys need comfort!!!

I have plenty of engines as I port , ex chest work, boring and assemble 2002+ 3.0 litre to 300x specs. I use a Rottler hp7 hone . I have a 24 skater copy that I gutted , plan on 15 inch 300x power with 10 inch set back , they claim 95 mph

I would say night and day difference in them, IMHO the 30 Spectres are nice but no where near the same boats as the Skaters, the 28 will be at least 10mph faster if not more and will handle water as well or better. With a little setup work the 30 will run with it speed wise and blow it away in rougher water.

I owned a Spectre 30 w/ twin 300 Promax's and then 300XS's for several years. I thought it was bad ass ................... until I bought a 28 Skater with twin 300X's.

The 28 Skater is just a HAMMER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe how hard it accelerates. Plus it's going to be 20 mph faster. I've only spent a few hours in my Skater, but honestly, it's just unbelievable how wicked it is. No comparison in my very humble opinion. It's two boats that are similar, yet not.

Turn it up , first minute twenty seconds of audio covers it . For the rest , take off the rose colored glasses
