I have a new to me 2005 Formula 370SS with 496 Mag HO's and Bravo 3X drives 425ish hours.
Engines run great, with the following exception. If the starboard motor exceeds 5000-5100 RPM I get an alarm, that goes away with just a slight reduction in RPM. I know the engines are rated for 5000 RPM so I'm over-revved by a bit so it's a good reminder.
Is there a high RPM alarm? Oil pressure, temp, volts, all stay in normal range.

That's good news:
I don't run them like that for much time, 1-2 min and only done it a few times in 30 hours. Engines like 34-3600 and the hull likes 4000 RPM. We've been getting to know the new boat, one thing I like to know is the WOT RPM as it's indicative of engine/prop/hull health. None of my previous boats had an overspeed alarm, glad to know this is all it is. I was worried it was an alarm for a non-gauged system like fuel pressure, water pressure, etc.
Will keep it below 5k from here on.
Great site, thanks all.

54 MPH on GPS at WOT in flat water at 5000 RPM is right on the stock performance numbers from Formula. I think changing propset would be fools money, the boat will not likely get any faster, just work harder to get out of the hole. So I'll keep the revs below 5k and know that she'll still perform with 10 people in the cockpit.
