Figured I would put this out there before it happens to someone else. This past winter I had to have a transom put in my Velocity, because of other reason I was not able to get the boat out of storage till later than expected and needed the boat fixed as soon as possible, I called John at A Team marine and supply in Ontario, figuring I would give the business to a smaller guy who needs the work rather than big company even though he was fairly higher priced than others. He told me the boat would be in and out in 2 weeks, well 2 weeks turned into 2 months, then 2.5 months, after multiple phone calls to him trying to get an update and the phone calls being ignored, text messages not being answered, voicemails not being responded to for weeks on end, turns out he's not as great of a business man as I'd expected. Completely lied about ordering materials saying they were damaged in shipping when in reality they were never ordered at all and I know this because I called the supplier and found out on my own. After finally getting ahold of him after weeks of missed phone calls and multiple deadlines that he promised were not made. I had to go there on my own and literally watch him work on the boat to know he was not lying like he was the past 2 months. Then to get even better having to go to buy almost $200 in materials that he did not have to even finish the job. Is by the most unprofessional business man I have ever met. Would not recommend this guy to absoultey anyone. Now the boat has been delivered to another marina to have the transom he put in it completely torn back out and redone, his work never bonded to the existing gel coat so there for it all needs to be replaced again. Just wanted to get this info out there before they waste months and thousands of dollars on something that is no where near what you expected.

I totally am empathetic to Dennis' plight. Certainly not standing up for John, as he has yet to defend himself on this job anywhere, but I feel he bit off more than he could handle.
I've had him do some buff out work on 2 boats and saw several others and the work was great. His background is in cars- painting, detailing. He was doing that with boats, along with gel coat and painting, and maybe should have stopped there and not taken a job he may not have experience with.
Sorry you have this issue Dennis and hope you get this resolved and the boat on the water. Several years ago I had Fast Forward boat repair (on Oneida Lake, I believe Brewerton) do some major hull repair and they did a great job. Not sure if they are still there, and a bit of a drive, but could be worth looking into.
