Default Just wondering about this Magnum

My brother in law recently passed away and I have been asked to sell his boat and trailer. It is licensed here in Ontario as a 1977 27" Magnum but not positive about this --- still digging through paperwork. Am thinking that someone here might be able to tell me a little about this boat? Here are a couple of pics from a a number of years ago. It worked well the last time it was on the water in 2012 but it has been pretty much sitting idle since than. Believe the boat and motors would take a fair bit of work to bring it back to the way it once was.

It looks to be a real Magnum Sport by the pictures you have, more pic's would be helpful. Also looks to have Hynautic steering & Merc Trs drives & maybe 280hp small block & Merc trim tabs that have been lengthened [many did that back in the day ].. The deck looks also to have the insert that Klem copies don't have. Like any boat that hasn't been run in some time it would be best to give a complete examination & rebuild what would be needed.

Thanks for the input H2oboater. As a novice when it comes to off shore boats I really appreciate your insight. Yes the boat does have a deck insert. Do you know if this boat would have any special status or is it basically just an old speed boat from days gone by? I guess what I'm wondering is whether this boat might be of interest to dealers for their restoration and sale?

If you can copy the HIN # on the upper right of the transom we might know if it was raced or not. Mark

Hi H2oboater --- the boat and the ownership papers are at the cottage but expect to see both soon and will be able to provide the HIN.
