Default Pair of 500 hour 1999 502's needing(i think) new manifolds

I have a 1999 Scarab AVS with twin stock 502's. I purchased with 60 hours and 90% of time running has been 4200rpm or less. 50/50 salt/fresh running. I'm thinking its time for new exhaust as they have original iron heavy pieces in them. I had an old Regal that eventually corroded out and ruined an engine.

So, staying stock, I'm leaning to Stainless Marine BBC with Corsa exhaust fittings. Any reasons NOT to do replacement? Also, other that the parts, what price might I be looking at for the labor. I'm an accountant and try to stay in my lane and leave engine, HVAC and electrical work to the pros....... taxes , pro-formas and financials, I can handle.

No reason NOT to do the exhaust, UNTIL, an exhaust stud breaks off due to corrosion. My experience is about $100 - $125/hr labor currently in Conroe area. What part of Houston you located in?

Also if you are looking at the newer Gen 3 they are 41/2" and the transom will need mods to accommodate along with new tips. The original style will be fine.

I did a lot of research when I replaced mine. Of course I caught it too late being a glossy eyed newb and buying a new boat with leaking risers. Anyhow, I went with the Stainless Marines as well. I'm sure there are some somewhere but I don't recall finding a thread that mentioned a failure of them anywhere on here. They are really nice pieces and fit perfect for my application. You won't be disappointed and the weight savings over the OE pieces is dramatic. I searched all over for the best deal you can PM me and I can relay you the contact info if you are interested.
