In recognition of the four Kentucky boaters who died in an accident the day before the charitable poker run they were in town to participate in, Lanier Islands flew all 16 of the Pirate flags surrounding the American flag on the property at half mast as a symbol of respect to Art and Melissa McMahan and Anthony and Tammy Reece.
