Default Please help with my 1989 320 EFI Mercruiser

Very frustrated. It appears that the throttle position sensor, Merc. PN 14882A2 went bad. They are no longer available from Merc. Has anyone found a replacement from a secondary source? Any ideas? Maybe someone replaced theirs with an intake and carb set up and could sell me some of the old parts? Thanks.

There is a # printed on it, but I cannot see it from the below picture from Merc's catalog.

Can you get the # off the TPS and we can try to go from there ?

Couldn't make out that number on the bad one. Will pull the good one off the other engine later and see if I can read it.

Can't believe I may have to switch to carbs over 1 stinking sensor.

last time I seen one of these on the shelf, cost was about 260 to 300 bucks - Possible a dealer might have old stock still sitting on the Shelf, one or 2 maybe somewhere, but I bet the price would be the same if not higher being in a Merc package - thru a Merc dealer.

Are you able to sweep the sensor to find the resistance range?

Thanks for the help. There is one of those on eBay now also. The end that goes into the throttle shaft looks different though. I don't know how to sweep the sensor but think I can figure out how to throw this crap fuel injection in the dumpster LOL
