Anybody know of the intake manifold gasket for the 496 marine motor is the same as the 8.1 that is in so many trucks? The mercury gasket looks to be just a little different in the port shape but the GM gasket looks to be the correct shape. Mercury part number is 881633 and here is a link to the Mercury and GM gaskets.

There are actually 3 different design 496 manifold gaskets. I used the latest generation automotive gasket when I had mine apart. Fel-Pro number MS96057. They are about 100 bucks a set.

Thanks thats way better then the Mercury price. My boat is a 2004 and the date on the ECM is 5/30/2003 so I assume that is when the motor was assembled or close to it. Do you know if the gasket you listed will work on my motor?
