I have a 98 cobalt to pm and was wondering what oil and fiter to use, also drive oil recommendations as there is no apparent dealer in town carrying oem products. Tia.

Volvo use to rec 30 w syn motor oil they have changed to a syn 10w 40. The drive is 75w 90 GL 5 spec volvo highly recs syn gear oil of this spec. Mobil one use to supply volvo many years ago their gear oil and so did amsoil. I would use volvo or mobil or amsoil syn 75 w 90 gear oil. Do not use merc gear oil as overtime it glazes the cone clutch.
