The 353 handles some chop

Had the 353 out in the ocean yesterday between Corsons inlet and the Great Egg inlet off New Jersey. I was running 40 - 50 mph in 5 footers and the boat handled it well, in about 20 knots of wind.

5 footers? our top gun has trouble in 5's and it's a true 38' with a lot more weight.

Trough to crest, 5 feet. It's all in knowing how to trim and what speed to go.

That's a 2.5' wave.

I'm going to be honest that I'm still getting used to my 353. Rides nothing even close to my old straight bottom 42 Fountain. Doesn't like any tab like the 42 unless I'm going real slow trying to stay on plane. So tabs full up and only maybe a little on one side or the other to level boat due to weight or wind. As far as trimming out... I get the drives about halfway and that's it. Starts to throw a rooster tail, rpm climbs and speed doesn't change. Had the water tank full and it really was noticeable. It did not like that either. So I was out yesterday and once up on plane drives 1/3 to 1/2 out and that's the best ride I was able to find.

Wrong again. In fluid dynamics, the wave height of a surface wave is the difference between the elevations of a crest and a neighbouring trough

Not trying to be rude, but a guy comes on and just shares that he went for a ride in what he seems to think were 5' waves...Without video coverage or monitoring station reports, what the hell does it matter if they were 5' or 2.5'??? This is the dumbest freakin babble back and forth I've ever read on this site. Is there at anytime that someone can just NOT have to act like an idiot and just enjoy a thread for what was written???? Yes, am I tired of the "oh, I'm the biggest guy in the room" mentality....Damn right I am. There is so much more BAD SH*T going on in this world that just maybe we ought to keep our sites on what is important and not the constant badgering of stupidity.....

Yes, not unusual, a little more wind than normal.
