Default Ford- New 6.0 Powerstroke- anyone care to comment?

I went to look at F-250 crew cab & excursions last week. I still think I'm leaning towards the Excursion, but they said I gotta wait for the new motor. I'm not sure if the the 7.3 Powerstroke is to be no more, but you cant get a diesel excursion till mid october and it will be the 6.0L powerstroke, not the 7.3L powerstroke. You can get the 7.3 in the F-250/350 still right now though. The new motor is a 6.0L with more hp and torque. I hadn't heard this yet so I thought I'd post it cuz I know alot of you have diesels already, and I'd like to hear your opinions. Here's what it says in the brochure I have, for comparisons sake:

7.3L 16 valve power stroke
V8 turbo diesel
250 max HP@2600
525 ft lbs max torque@1600
cast iron block
cast iron heads
bore 4.11
stroke 4.18
compression ratio 17.5:1

6.0L 32 valve powerstroke
V8 turbo diesel
325 max hp@3300
560 ft lbs torque@2000
cast iron block
cast iron heads
bore 3.74
stroke 4.13
compression ratio 18.0:1

And a new TorqShift trans with a tow haul mode, this is right out of the Ford booklet I got at the dealer.

That sounds like a pretty sweet upgrade dude. You selling the Yukon? I might be interested.

DO me a big favor and buy it!!! I'll even leave the 02 denali rims on it for ya, I was gonna trade it in, and put the stock rims and tires back on it.

I buy and sell alot of trucks as I set up custom tow rigs and trailers for customers . I get all the latest right from Ford . ( OF course it changes all the time ) THe last I got was NO more orders for 7.3 as of a week ago. (In the trucks ) The 6 liter is suposed to be out in JAnuary in the trucks . Not sure how they do the excursions .Also the torque number they just sent me is 620 !! IT is going to be extremely quiet , much more power , better mileage, and yes a 5 speed auto trans . I haven't herd anything about what they will do for a manual trans yet .

Just what I'm told ...........

OH , and the chips will just plug in !!! NO more taking the computer apart and prepping it like before !

AND , for you farmer types , I have chips for your John Deeres now !!! Yup , anything with a bosche pump . I beleive they are 8600 or 8800 series or something . Not sure . BUT COOL !

There's the guy that I knew would know something about this!!
The dealer told me last week mid-october they would get the first 6.0's in. We'll see if thet holds true or not.

I heard they did some testing here in CO. with the new combo, was I lied to???? Questioning minds are waiting for a reply.
