BIG shout out to Boat Repairs Plus for their support @ the Lake Norman Fun Run (NC)

Bob Shutter and his son Chad have been long standing well known members of our community for a long time. I've only gotten to know them over the past two years, but many, many folks have come to know and trust them for much, much longer. Between Boat Repairs Plus, and BRP Customs which is Chad's business; these guys are over the top on customer service.
1) On Wednesday evening, Yankey (yschmidt) dropped his beautiful black & white Cigarette Bullet off for quick storage so he could pick up his wife at the airport. When he came back in the morning to pick it up, he found that Chad had washed the boat and trailer from top to bottom to remove all the road grime from the trip into town. (Seriously!?)
2) On Friday morning, the day before the run, Jeremy from Richmond & his 33 Donzi ZX starting having water flow issues which was a bad impeller. We took a stab at replacing it while on the water, but it just wasn't going to happen. The SWP was damn near impossible to get to, especially for Jeremy, myself, and the few others that were there based on height/size. We called Bob Shutter, and Bob agreed to take the boat in THAT DAY, and wedge their way into the bilge to replace the impeller, WHICH THEY DID so Jeremy, Kameron, Ed, and Janet could make the Fun Run on Saturday. The boat wasn't trailered to their shop until lunchtime on Friday, and Jeremy was back on the water for the meet & greet dinner Friday night at Apps & Taps on the lake.
3) Bob and Chad invited a small group of their customers over for a cookout at their house as the Fun Run concluded on Saturday. It was THE BEST time, and our whole crew really enjoyed it!!! They fed us well, and I was introduced to the best damn buffalo/blue cheese hummus dip EVER. I didn't even know I could like hummus!
That's Mark Rinda of MER Performance at the grill with Bob. You should have heard these two going on and on about boat build stories.

4) Last, my truck had some issues after I towed down there. I took it to a shop with knowledge on my particular truck, and I believe they have the issues worked out (electrical). I left the truck down there in Denver, and towed Monsoon home with another truck. (Thanks Yankey, Mark, and Jay!) Now that the issues are worked out, but I'm 5 hours away, Chad agreed today to go pick it up and store it for me until I can get down there.
Bonus) Last year, Bob came though for me for some trim pump parts that I needed last minute when I had an issue. He had them in stock and gave me all the support I needed to get back on the water.
They can pretty much do anything to a boat. If you need assistance, and if you are within reach of Bob Chad, and the BRP family; I HIGHLY recommend them!

PS: Word on the street is that the Lake Norman Fun Run is going to 'grow back up again' next year (2017), back to a full Poker Run with a downtown street festival/boat parade! I can't wait!!

Couldn't agree more with the quality of Bob and Chad. I was introduced to them a year and a half ago and approved quite an extensive amount of work at their shop. They treated me amazing, the work was exceptional and communication was excellent. Glad to have them as a repair shop and good boating friends. Wish there was more people like this in the boating world. Only regret was I missed the fun run this year

I'll jump in as well. Seriously impressed with this shop and glad to call them friends. I had quite a bit of work done by them this year (new transom, assemblies, engines, exhaust, rigging) and they always found time to make me feel welcome when I was literally poking into their business.
I wanted to be back in the water by Lanier and they made it happen even though the required work was quite a bit more than we all anticipated. A true winter project that they fit in during the busy season when they could have declined.
The cook-out was great hospitality and evidence that boating isn't just business to them. Already looking forward to next year!
