Sold my 32 Skater and looking for super clean 30 Spectre Outboard with no power , curious what the common top speed is with pair 300 x and also what gearcase ratio as well as if a 15 inch mid will work . I have several engines here to choose from .

I had a 2005 with 300X's and it ran 102-106.

X2 what Andy said on speed. Most 3.0 or 3.2 liter sportmasters will be running 1.62 gears and a 15 mid is not going to be the best choice since there is no splash well.

Transom is too tall for 15" mids. Should run about 105 but will depend on load ofcourse

I am running 103-105MPH with fuel and people. Light on fuel with 1 person 107.5MPH. That is with 300XS Opti's.

definitely no 15" mids
as don't want to set them back far
there was 1 for sale recently that had 15" 280s and the top deck was all busted up
from being trimmed up too many times into the deck
20" on 4-6" jack plates

Before I converted my 30 spectre to triples it ran 107 with twin 15" mid 2.5 drag motors
I had no problem whatsoever with the 15" mids

15" mids are great for lower gravity
just cannot trim em much on 4" jacks
if u want to beach it
as the boat I stated about he definitely didn't care if they hit
that's a given to bust up the deck the way it was
