I am in the market for a CC boat and the Concept line has my attention. I am trying to figure out if the 30' or 32' will fit my needs. I currently have a 32' Active Thunder and it performs great on the Potomac River, Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay. Does anyone have experience with these 2 Concept boat models on these bodies of water. I am more concerned with the Potomac River as the conditions change quickly and we enjoy trips to Sharks Tooth Island. The boat will also be used for tubing and other water sports, but I also do not want to loose all of the performance I currently have.

I just bought a 30, don't have a ton of seat time yet. I boat on the same waters you mentioned. I was out a few weekends ago and it was pretty rough. The boat doesn't seem to ride as good as my 30' Superboat did in the rough, but I didn't really expect it too either.
So far I love it. Perf. boats are a lot of fun but I wanted something more practical. Tired of climbing over the engine hatch, standing on my head while working on the motor, and having a small cockpit.
I got 300's on mine and it performs pretty well. I want to mix in some watersports and maybe a little fishing too.
Concept was great to work with. My boat was done in 12 wks as promised.

I looked at a Concept myself....I brought a 32' up from Miami and test ran it on the upper Bay. I was not impressed. I think a larger performance CC is warranted. My father had a 42' Yellowfin and that really rode well from North East River all the way down to Annapolis in "crappy" mid-winter waters. Unfortunately its two entirely different price points in boats.
If I was you....I would shoot for longer and heavier.

Shootin's comments are valid. But, comparing a 32 to a 42 you would expect a difference. The 36 Concept is a MUCH larger boat than the 30 or 32. I wanted to go for the 36, but it would of caused towing and storage issues for me. He is right about the price point too.
I spend 50% or more of my time on the Potomac between Colonial beach and DC, so the 30 works for me. If the bay is too rough on a particular day, I go elsewhere.
