Default 38 Express Cruiser Replacement Anchor options??? Factory One useless.

The factory built in custom anchor on my 38 EC is the worst anchor designed. Has anyone of you tried to run a different anchor?? I don't want to lose the windlass option obviously. Im wondering if i can run a dansforth style that will hold. Any help will be great and pics if people have done modifications...Thanks

I found out the same thing. I even put a sharp edge on digging edge of the fountain anchor with no luck. I just made a mount in the anchor locker and store a Danforth over the factory one. But, I can't use the windlass. There has to be an anchor made that would work in the anchor locker, but it won't be flush with the front of the boat.

You could look to cut the 'wings' off of the factory anchor, and modify. Perhaps adding weight to the bottom of the 'wings' or something similar would enhance.

Honestly, IME; there is not a better anchor than the Box anchor on the market.
