Default Clearwater race hotel/marina advice needed

We are considering bringing the Skater over to play in Clearwater on race weekend. The host hotels are on the beach, and great for watching the race, but we want to stay where we have a marina or one very nearby.

Any advice and possible contact info for places is greatly appreciated.

Greg

Here is your best best bet....put the boat in at Bay Pines and run out of John's pass (we meet there to head out as well).

Clean and big rooms, tiki bar on site, and nice little marina but nothing crazy

If your set on Clearwater beach though.....its a mom and pop places with dock space. Not wowing at all but clean and friendly.

Lastly....stay at the Pier house on Clearwater Beach but call Clearwater marina and see if you can get dock space. That way you can still see your boat and it's short walk to it from the hotel.

I'll be at the Pier House the week of Thanksgiving. Been a long 4 years since I was there! Last stayed at the Sand Pearl but that would be a bit pricey and not near the marinas so not a good place to stay for the races. Nate, has that new development across the street from Pier House completed and if so, does it impede the view of the beach?

It is the new grand Hyatt going up...its close to done. However you still get a view for the races from up top at Jimmy's Crows nest.

This pic was a month or so ago from up there.

I had not planned on attending the race soley as a spectator, but after looking at the Hotels, Marinas, and pictures in the links you provided, I got an itch to travel to Florida watch the race, visit my mother, ect, but the watching the race and seeing the boats would be great.

Thank you posting all the options, fantastic first hand information.
