I just purchased this boat, and was hoping some of you with Baja knowledge may be able to help me out. I noticed on a rough day that I was getting some liquid splashing out of the A/C compartment vents under the bed.
I siphoned out 12 gallons of what appeared to be dirty mineral spirits or coca cola or something. I could not figure out how to drain this compartment, there is a hose from the A/C that runs thru this compartment into the next lower compartment, but no drain that I could see. The other problem is the boat has 2 amps in a compartment, the music plays in the cuddy but I cannot get any music in the drivers area. Thanks for any help or advice.

Not sure as to construction of the 40 but I have a 36. There should not be enough "fluid" in the to splash out. The AC has a water line that "Condensator" any water that collects in the AC unit from it's operation will drain into the hull in that compartment and flow through the hull to the bilge area.
I would first make sure the above mentioned water line is not leaking at some point. Past that if nothing is located I would remove the forward panel at the front of the V berth and have another person run water over the bow cleats, Nav. light, and horns. They may not have been sealed well enough from the factory allowing rain water to enter.

This boat has a drain in the A/C compartment that drains into the next lower compartment which I assume should drain into the lower bilge compartment, but it doesn't seem to for some reason, after pumping it out I couldn't see a drain but I really don't have much of a view thru maybe a 2" opening.

the drain might be clogged up from gunk over the years. If you have access to one of those little cameras on a flex line that plumbers use you could get an idea of what is going on under the floor. Just a thought.
