Default Rage with Arizona Speed and Marine 625hp idle video

2003 Nordic Rage with Arizona Speed And Marine L-18 625hp. CMI headers with HPI mufflers, currently runs 72-75 GPS at 5700-5800 rpm with a Lab 24P Bravo. Has the IMCO lower and dual ram steering. I want to go up in pitch but worried that it won't plane out worth a damn.

I am no prop expert, but I think you have plenty of power to step up in pitch and number of blades with no issue. You can rent props through some places like bblades to try it out. Good luck with your search!

I would try a 4 blade 28P on that.

I thought 28 as well. My buddy has one that I will be trying next season.

Something seams off, you should be running much better than 72-75 with that much power, is it a 1.50? What the rpm range on that setup, I was able to spin a labbed 28 bravo to 5100 with 425hp, with a best of 78, holeshot wasn't too bad, but nowhere near the 26

My 425hp 496 rage will do 75 with a 26P so I would say something is wrong. Are you on the rev limiter?

I don't know the drive ratio , it's an IMCO lower with XR upper, the tach was removed and is now displayed digital through a star gazer perfect pass. The speedo is a Livorsi GPS. It hits the limiter around 75mph I was told the engine makes peak power around 52-5300 and the limiter is set to 5700

Wow, ok, yeah you need to prop for 5300 this time of year, you will lose 1-200 in summer heat, maybe more, you need at least a 28, prolly a 30 tuned up would be about what you need, which should realistically put you into the mid 80's if it's making a true 625hp

My factory set up with stock 496HO came with 26P Bravo. For my Rage with 1.5:1 Bravo X1, 625hp at 5300 rpm, 5800 rpm redline best prop was a BBlades labbed B28, 85-87mph @5800 rpm at 915ft elevation, full tanks driver only. BBlades labbed B30 struggled to get 5200 rpm under same conditions.
