Default 26 Nuera rear seat

Planning on some doing some preventative maintenance this winter to the 500 efi but can't get to the front of the engine. How hard is it to remove the rear seat, is it fastened on the sides because I have removed the ones in the fiberglass base and it want move. Any help would be great

The rear bench is pretty snug where it's mounted but should be fairly easy. I don't remember the exact number but there should be 6-9 screws holding the upholstery part of the bench to the fiberglass seat base. Remove those screws. Next I highly recommend spraying whatever clearner it is you use to clean your upholstery around the edges where the bench seat meets the side panels. This will help prevent chafing along with also creating a lubrication to help the upholstery slide. Next once you remove the mounting screws and spray down the upholstery, carefully slide the bench forward a little bit then remove all screws/wires/accessories that are mounted to the backside (inside the engine compartment) that will prevent the bench from being removed. At this point you should be able to remove it. Best way to go about this is to tilt the "back rest" slightly forward and as evenly possible slide it straight up, don't forget to apply some cleaner as lube when necessary.

Hope this helps!

I can't get to the screws where the seat meets the base/cooler it looks like they where installed before it was set in the boat. That is why I may have to remove as one piece

Lavey Craft has never installed the upholstery to the fiberglass cooler before it goes in the boat. They are always installed separately. Can you post a picture on so we can see? Or send pictures in an email to [email protected] so we can further help.
