Default How do I obtain A personal D.O.T. number for wide load permits

I am looking to get a personal DOT number so I can apply for wide load permits. My question is the permit company said I need a personal number but the DMV told me I cant get a personal number and that it has to go through a company, Any insight would be a big help

Call Mercury permits in Nevada. When I picked up my Skater in NJ they handled all the paper work, fees & permits for the 3 states I crossed. It was painless and cheap at $320. When I was in the works with them they did not ask for a DOT registration? Hope this helps.

You might have to apply to be exempt for that........... not sure.

In Indiana they use your SSN but you have to file at the over size over weight department with the DOT. They created an account for me
