Default Buy a new boat getting back in!

Ok been a long time member here. I've been out of the boating game 10 years. But now I am buying a boat. I'm actually going to be ordering it. Dont get too excited, it cost less than a v-rod 400. I'm buying an 18 foot cc. Its a Pioneer 180 Islander. It will fit in my garage with a fold away tongue. Which I need in my HOA community. I'm ordering it with a Mercury 115 pro xs 4 stroke. I'm going against the grain since this is Yamaha country down here. My question for you guys is should I order itbwith the command thrust lower. Or just the stock lower. Boat weighs 1150 dry. Intend use for cruising and some fishing also my son is quite a wakeboarder. Looking for opinions. Ordering next Thursday.

I have no answers for your questions specifically, however, welcome back to the insanity.

btw, how could you be a member in 2000 and not be a charter member, many of which show a 2001 join date?

I dont know why I'm not a charter member. Can't remember back that far! I think you had to pay more for a charter back then. And me being cheap, just payed the regular membership. Plus I was never a prolific poster as you can see from my post count. But I still read this every day. We do need an outboard tech section.

Hi Indy, we have been living down here for 10 years now. Left Long Island behind. We use to go to Claudios almost every weekend. We had a 260 Powerquest. I probably saw you there at least once or twice!

Gary C. Congrats on the new boat!

We old timers that are "Charter members" were members back in 2000 when Jeffery Chang owned OSO and Jeff was looking to upgrade the OSO server, and Jeff asked all members if they would pony up $$ for the new server, those members who did, became "Charter members" for life. Little OSO history for ya'll.
