What would a 1998 33 scarab AVS hull be worth. It's complete and in good conditions, just missing the engines and drives?

Maybe $18-20K depending on overall condition and if it comes on a trailer.

Food for thought...I was thinking maybe a little lower. Why go to the effort when in the end cost the same as one finished

Dream boat your going to run 5+ years or something you want to have market value in when running?

Older boats without power are darn near worthless if you are considering resale.

Ideally a combination of the two. My logic (wrong it would seem) was that at the end the project would have come out at the same price if not fractionally lower (with many headaches on the way)

Older straight bottoms aren't worth much.

Step boats will bring more. I'd pay more for a wood free boat too.

Avs is a stepped hull.

You will have negative equity. You may be able to come out even in parts alone but by the time you add labor you will put more in than it's worth. It's ok. Stuff you've done and know what you have can beat buying it complete and having to basically put the same money in it because things were missed. Figure overall price and time to finish. Multiply price by 2 and time by 3 or 4.

wellcraft owners section, shows the 33 AVS , to start in 1999. 1998 , was 31 Scarab , non stepped. The AVS had the molded platform, and steps added, but overall same boat. Shows the 1998 31 Scarab, ran 72MPH with 502 mags. The 1999, 33 AVS, ran 76mph with 502 mags.
