transom straps

Gut feeling is to get some 2" wide 10,000 lb tie down ratchet straps. Remember the function of the straps is to keep the trailer connected to the boat. Nothing that West marine has is heavy duty enough.

You likely want straps that have a "flat snap" hook on the end, but it really depends on the boat and trailer as to how the straps are going to attach and at what angle.
Like this, or fixed (non-swivel).

I like 3" wide straps, but they now have 2" wide straps that are plenty for your needs.
And that argument about holding the trailer up to the boat is not valid. In the case of an accident, especially a sudden stop, you are trying to keep the boat from moving forward or coming off the trailer. That's multiples of force compared to the weight of the trailer.

I had 4 custom made. They have several choices for colors and hooks. I think I paid around $35 for all 4. The place is called Rockford Rigging and there number is (815) 877-0007. If you have any issues let me know i live just down the street.
