Default AC brand and size question.

I bought a 1972 36 cigarette wide body last fall it has a full cabin and I want to add AC with reverse heat as well. What brands are the better ones and any idea on what size I will need? I want to do this right the first time. We will be using this with shore power only.

Anything else I need to know also please.

8-10, 000 btu will do the trick.
I found this to be a very well built unit that cools without freezing up..

Any issues with the water pump ? Seems this is the weak link for most of them.

None at all but they do not prime well so location (low in the bilge) is key.

mine air locked often , Had to purge air out of strainer for it to work .

I've installed a couple of these in family boats and they work great.
