NY boat show has been a snoozefest for performance boats for years......as in no performance boats on display so Coty marine certainly will have the hottest booth at the show.

Hopefully this ignites the competition to start promoting their brands at the NY boat show also!


As far as the boat/car crossover/cross marketing. I have a friend with a matte Lambo Huracan and he is definitely not a fan of CC's or performance boats! He has a Chris Craft on the lift and a motoryacht in the marina.

I haven't attended the New York Boat Show so I don't speak from experience, but from everyone I've spoke to about the event—at least on the sportboat and performance-oriented center console side of the market—could use a spark. Based on the interview I did for the story, that's what I believe the folks at Coty Marine are trying to do. With their willingness to bring an exotic car I assume (though I could be wrong because I have not spoken to them) that the people at Manhattan Motorcars also believe the effort is worthwhile.

Just reporting. That said, I never fault anyone for trying.

I feel it is a big step in the right direction! The show has been more than flat for the past decade and anything that can help liven it up and add some flash will help.

In a sea of glass boats crammed into a complex, a white Lambo will garner attention a hell of a lot better than a bunch of feather flags for the Sunsation dealer (and also gets the Lambo dealer attention that they would have otherwise not gone after)

Look at the commotion Gino's first Lambo/boat display garnered at Miami.....to that point, all performance boater/ hot rodders have alot of red'neck blood - seems our favorite colour is "shine-y"

I can see the Sunsation and a Vette, the Lambo has been done and done well.

Thats an Outerlimits paint scheme if I ever saw one!!! Im happy Sunsation is making an effort, and its good to see they are inspired by a #1.

Many high end boat owners also own high end cars. Sounds reasonable to promote them in the same display.

That said, a 20k sound system in a boat? We're wondering why boats are so expensive, well here's an opportunity to slash a few bucks of the sticker price. To those guys who have this much invested in their boat stereos, I'd love to see what your home entertainment system looks like........
