Not sure, maybe if the hole were taped off? Me personally, I'm not a big fan of the hydro dipping, just my opinion.

Yes rob voodoorob they are rediculously priced. Mercury knows nobody else makes them. Now when I'm checking the boats out at the get togethers it won't all be about what's under the hatch but if there's a CF coolant res cover or two! Lol

Still need one!

To save nearly $500 I would be a fan of Hydro Dipping. Wonder if I can just make these out of scrap aluminum sheet, little magic on the brake and then have them hydro dipped, would it be worth it?

why not hydro-dip? just asking
I've had some done and like it, carbon fiber is the hardest to do but I did like the outcome

Just looks fake to me. Rob if you could
Make something out of AL I bet a carbon fiber vinyl would look damn near like the real thing. The 3M di-noc vinyl is pretty nifty stuff

I had mine done by a shop and carbon fiber has to be the hardest because it has to be straight or it looks really bad, I think he had to do my valve covers four times, are the perfect no are they good, I think so
taping off the holes is almost a must
I would think the 3M would look good also

one of the early attempts
