Anyone ever think about building a cuddy door for a vr1. Maybe doing a couple overnights this year and it'd be nice to have a door for some privacy.

This is boating in 40* March weather. While cuddy door is open. You can see it locked in open left position.

Hey Jason, VR 1s usually have a sliding cabin door with a combination latch/lock. Do you have a Cabin? Was your VR 1 set up as a race boat without a Cabin?

PS hello Ryan, how care you doing?

That is strange, a full cuddy and no door. I would start with a phone call to Kenny at Let's Talk Boats. He likely knows the history on your boat and more to the point what it takes to install a door. Did you buy the boat new? If not do you know the history? Is there an aluminum channel in the cabin entranceway? If so that is what the door rides in. Usually a white translucent plastic door. I would post pics but my boat is put away and shrink wrapped.

The pic above is pretty similar to my 280. The door is nothing fancy. I have had it out and the track when i did my headliner.

The track is just aluminum on the bottom and plastic on the top. The door rides on some rollers in the bottom track. Pin through the bottom track keeps it opened (like pictured above). Simple latch on the door and the hardware on the pillar by the steering wheel.

I really dont think it woukd be hard to make/install one. At least on my setup anyway. Vr1 might be a little different.

I have a bifold Starboard louvered door for sale on ebay. It is approximately 36.5 X 20 in off white. My ebay name is ren-iii. I am asking $40 plus shipping. It is new.
