I got my Bmax drives from Florida to Michigan pretty reasonably through Uship.com. I tried calling the freight companies directly and got absolutely outrageous quotes because I didn't have a commercial account. Best quote was R&L through them. Uship.com basically acts as the commercial account holder so you qualify for the fright company contracted discounts.

Uship will give estimates of all the different freight companies that can handle the job then you pick the best one.

I've ship using Fastenal. Fill out the size and weight and they will have you a quote tomorrow afternoon. You or the purchaser can pay for it. They have fork trucks.

I shipped mine through Freightz.com and I would not recommend them. The engine was dropped upside down and they refused to pay for damages. Engine was shipped in a Mercruiser engine shipping crate.

I did a 496 recently from TN to WA, and it was like $700 crated. Was nearly 1200 pounds fully dressed, not sure how a BBC can weigh 700#.
