I'm playing with the idea of adding super chargers. I have 588ci motors with aluminum heads that are 9.4-1 Comp ratio Is that to much compression for low boost superchargers? Motors make 700hp now. Anyone have any helpful thoughts. Thanks

what head gasket you using with your current CR and what aluminum heads do you have? Also are your bores already notched? I'm no expert rather than just trying to see where you may or may not be able to lose some comp. Depending on what heads you have you may be able to open the chambers up 5-7 plus ccs. Bore notch is apprx 2 ccs and let's say if you have a common .039 head gasket and went a .090 plus you could potentially get down to 8.5:1 or so or even less. Lots of variables but I'd just never put a blower on anything 9.0 or above for a pump gas build.
For sure get more advice but I don't see how you'd be able to run a worthy amount of boost to make it worth while unless you lower the comp. An intercooler would certainly give you the ability to run a little more boost as you know but... 4 pds maybe? I may be on the low side but I'd rather be conservative.
Lose some comp and throw the boost to it. Otherwise I'd leave it. Your life will go from having fun to worrying and wishing you didn't. Just my opinion. MT would be a good one to chime in to give you some more hands on advice. I've only ran 177's and 420 mb however never ran more than 8.0:1 but that was prior to the chiller days.

the gasket is .041. The heads are brodix Cncd to 126cc from 121. From the looks of it I need to replace pistons with a dished one to do this I found a good deal on some 8-71s and chillers etc.

Play around with Wallace racing compression ratio calculator. .090 compressed head gasket gets you under 9.0. Plug in a .120 and probably get near 8.6:1.

Procharger works well with 9.0 or so compression.
