I'm needing a boat moved from up on the Chain O' lakes to Diversey Harbor and do not have a trailer for the boat. A quick google search hasn't net me any results for local transport. Transporters all seem to be flat rate mileage stuff over long distance, not 60 mile hauls.
I've got a cabin cruiser without a trailer 28' 6"' LOA 9'6" beam, no radar arch so height should be plenty under limit on a hydraulic trailer, boat weighs approximately 7000lbs overestimating.
The boat is currently at Rustic Harbor in McHenry and Id ideally like it dropped in at Diversey but would be fine with any of the Chicago harbors. Somewhere in the ballpark of May 1st.

Instead of having to battle going downtown with a truck and trailer why not have it brought to Winthrop Harbor just straight east of you in Zion and drive the boat downtown from there?

What's the big deal with driving "downtown" its streets with stop lights and signs like anywhere else. Thousands of semi trucks navigate the roads every day.

I moved my brothers 30 maxum to diversey once and that was enough permits for the city and bridge height narrow streets it was a couple years ago if I remember 10'6' wide and 12-10 tall when I called for permits told Chicago 13-2 couple inches to spare came off the kennedy onto diversey and the bridge is marked 13' , I called the permit issuer and asked about it and they said looking it up is up to you ??? the guys from munson go to 31st street easier to get to better ramps , I would launch at whinthrop and boat there its also a lot cheaper

I dont have enough fingers and toes to count how many close calls i've had with some dufus swerving over from the right lane across two lanes to get the left turn lane (or visa-versa) cause they just realized they are missing their turn! And then look at you like WTF when you are laying on the horn at them! Then you have the other drivers that think because there is room in front of your rig at the light or intersection, they can just go and shift their way into the opening, when you are trying not to be a schmuck and block the entire intersection cause the light may change at any moment. Oh and the bridge heights....you had better be sure how tall you are and have room to spare cause some of the listed heights are no where near what they are! Once saw a box truck that was labeled as 10' on the box get a corner peeled off going under a bridge marked 10'6"
granted that's too close for comfort but still...Best one yet.....i had a 87yr old turn into the side of my boat when the lanes merged in a construction zone.....white crew cab dually and a 30' blue and yellow boat on a white tripple axle trailer and he hits me right in front of the the front tire on the right side.....he claims he didnt see me!!! The Cop lost it and yelled "how can you not see 40' of truck and trailer in front of you!!!"

Now if your paying someone else to move it then who cares as long as it gets there in one piece.

I live in the city so I'm used to the asshats everywhere haha.
if this boat got tumbled off the trailer, I'd be jumping for joy! for a one time tow it's worth the hassle in my opinion. Regularly, no thanks. I got rear ended with an empty trailer on 55 driving to Burnham Harbor. Lady on her phone in traffic of course. So close she couldn't see the trailer. Cost me a $30 marker light that I wasn't about to call insurance over. Royally ****ed the bumper on her car. She didn't seem to care too much. Snapped a pic of the damage and her license plate, both went on our separate ways.

The other thing was the boat got moved on a bunk trailer so it was able to get launched at Diversey. They said the hydraulic sat too high to launch at that ramp and it would have to be Winthrop or 31st
